It was really up to date, with the ordination of the two Fr. Lau's in Beijing and a touching interview with their parents.

I was particularly interested in the Shatin / Hunan connection, as I am the confessor of the Shatin Sisters of Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows. You did well, and I knew all the people who appeared on screen.

There was news of me from the HK Diocese Lay Missionaries in Cambodia (Lucia and Rose )

As a member of the Royal Asiatic Society I often hear lectures on local history, but I do not join their excursions and visit. The Twelve minutes survey on the Chinese Church in Macau (St. Lazarus) Our Lady of Hope, was well done with Fr.Lau. Thinking of the Caritas projects in PRC, I notice that work for the old and sick and marginalised. Your visit there was deeply historical, giving the background and context-the ringing of the bell and the scenes from the roof of the church were breath taking...... This is a valuable historical item.

The Marist Brothers were given notice. I used to say Mass for them at 6:30am from 1967 to 1980. I knew all the people who appeared. This was real magazine style, showing the people clearly, their context at prayer and play and teaching, together with their actual context in St. Francis Xavier's College. Only TV could do this.

Nam Wah Secondary got some notice and I am happy, as it is a Band Five school, and we saw the 4D students. I know the dedicated Principal, but I must say that I did not get exactly how the parable of the hiring workers was portrayed. In any case, it was interesting and a window on catholic secondary education. Wong Man Ying is a very talented and strong character and Yip Fung Meng is efficient and good, and Sr. Yuen FMM. But their story was too long. If it were half the length, it would be better.

But now to the main item, "In The Beginning". First a slight blemish. At 0:11-16 to 0:11:21 there was a drilling sound in the background-typical of Hong Kong.

The item was slightly long of about 30minutes. It was very serious and important. It gave Catholic teaching very clearly and authoritatively by Bishop Tong, on Creation.

I see why you made it the central story of CVM. A Macau Church is built every thirty, years, and it was built just at the eve of the new millennium.

I admire you artistic taste and sources. The graphics and catholic art was well chosen and beautiful. Artistic representation was suitable and striking. You started with myths about creation, Greek, Chinese and Northern European. This was done simply, but was very deep and valuable. You also quoted a range of people from William Blake, Michelangelo, Einstein, Dante, and even Stephen Hawkins (who is anti-religious and also much read in HK). You certainly have learned people advising you. My congratulations.

Bishop Tong wisely pointed out the creativity of people, and how they can use it wrongly. Fr. Peter Choy spoke wisely and appropriately.

This was then the backdrop for four couples talking about having children. Religious education must be fundamentally in the home, and here are the roots. But it was done in a very attractive way. They were clearly modern Hong Kong couples talking honestly about having children.

Man Tin On and his wife spoke very well, as did the others. You chose them well and gave them a very good showing.

This is a very valuable presentation of Creation and Family life-with children.

Peter Cheung Man Hon is a polished and intelligent presenter. He has presence and humor. With him was "Man" Sau Wai who shone brilliantly. I appreciated the traveling from Cambodia and going to Beijing. And the end preparing us for another visit to Macau. The more humor the better.

邊 看 邊 想 著 明 愛 的 工 作 ， 我 發 覺 為 痲 瘋 病 人 工 作 ， 仍 然 很 重 要 。 這 顯 示 了 我 們 天 主 教 的 價 值 是 重 視 關 注 年 老 病 弱 的 人 。 你 們 的 訪 問 很 有 歷 史 價 值 ， 提 供 背 景 和 解 釋 鐘 聲 的 意 義 ， 以 及 拍 攝 教 堂 頂 部 美 麗 的 裝 飾 畫 ， 十 分 珍 貴 。

在 ＜ 4D 班 的 新 同 學 ＞ 環 節 中 ， 看 到 天 主 教 南 華 中 學 的 學 生 的 話 劇 得 獎 ， 他 們 能 夠 得 到 注 意 ， 我 很 高 興 。 因 為 這 是 一 間 Band Five 學 校 ， 而 且 我 們 看 到 4D 班 的 同 學 。 我 明 白 重 點 ， 但 我 不 大 明 白 僱 工 的 比 喻 的 表 達 手 法 。 但 這 是 有 趣 的 ， 因 為 可 以 窺 探 天 主 教 中 學 的 教 育 質 素 。

至 於 今 期 的 主 題 ＜ 在 太 初 ＞ ， 首 先 在 ０：１１－１６ 至 ０：１１：２１ ， 有 些 微 瑕 疵 — — 以 鑽 聲 配 襯 香 港 的 畫 面 。

這 個 環 節 比 較 長 約 ３０ 分 鐘 ， 這 是 個 非 常 認 真 及 重 要 的 。 由 湯 漢 主 教 為 「 創 造 」 提 供 了 非 常 清 晰 及 權 威 性 的 講 解 。

我 很 欣 賞 你 們 的 美 術 製 作 ， 插 圖 和 天 主 教 的 畫 作 是 美 麗 ， 而 且 經 過 適 當 地 挑 選 。 美 術 的 表 達 方 式 很 能 配 合 意 境 和 很 能 打 動 人 。 以 希 臘 、 中 國 和 北 歐 ， 有 關 「 創 造 」 的 詩 句 開 始 ， 簡 潔 但 很 有 深 度 和 有 價 值 。

另 外 ， 引 用 了 不 少 偉 人 的 名 句 如 William Blake, Michelangelo, Einstein, Dante, and Stephen Hawkins 。 尤 其 是 Stephen Hawkins ， 因 為 他 是 反 對 宗 教 的 ， 但 他 的 著 作 在 香 港 很 受 歡 迎 。 以 偉 人 的 名 句 去 豐 富 和 支 持 自 己 的 作 品 ， 很 明 智 。

湯 主 教 提 出 了 人 的 創 造 ， 以 及 人 如 何 錯 誤 運 用 生 命 。 蔡 惠 文 神 父 的 講 解 亦 很 有 智 慧 和 準 確 。

之 後 是 四 對 夫 婦 分 享 「 生 兒 育 女 」 的 經 驗 。 宗 教 教 育 在 家 庭 中 一 定 要 很 牢 固 ， 因 為 家 庭 是 人 類 的 根 本 。 這 環 節 以 非 常 吸 引 的 方 式 表 達 ， 現 代 的 香 港 夫 婦 誠 實 地 分 享 「 生 兒 育 女 」 的 經 驗 和 看 法 。

文 添 安 和 他 的 妻 子 講 得 很 好 ， 其 他 夫 婦 也 講 得 好 ， 你 們 選 對 了 訪 問 對 象 ， 更 給 他 們 一 個 很 好 的 訪 問 。

總 括 而 言 ， ＜ 在 太 初 ＞ 這 個 環 節 對 「 創 造 」 及 「 有 子 女 的 家 庭 生 活 」 作 了 有 價 值 的 演 繹 。

張 文 瀚 是 一 個 很 有 光 芒 和 聰 明 的 表 演 者 ， 他 有 現 實 感 及 幽 默 感 ， 有 他 在 ， 令 文 秀 慧 也 能 發 光 發 亮 。

我 很 欣 賞 幽 默 － － 以 「 聖 母 的 兄 弟 」 來 介 紹 聖 母 小 昆 仲 會 ； 以 及 由 柬 埔 寨 「 跳 」 到 北 京 的 笑 話 ； 以 及 最 後 預 告 下 集 會 再 次 到 澳 門 採 訪 ， 都 以 生 動 有 趣 的 方 式 去 表 達 ， 越 多 幽 默 越 好 。
