"Stand up! Asian Women" 5

[Unlimited Potential]

After our two-days-symbolic journey, we went back to our lecture room in city and awaited our new next challenge….

This new challenge is the Radio Broadcasting course. Our lecturer Mr Augustine Anthuvan, who came from Singapore, has already stated at the beginning that we would receive an intensive training within the forthcoming four days. In fact, these days were tough but all of us enjoyed it much! We had no complaints plus not feeling hard to cope with. Ironically, we all contented to discover our potential talent!

Tough training days

At the first day, Augustine gave a brief introduction on the Radio Broadcasting. He taught us about the script writing skills and production techniques. After his lecture, he asked us to prepare a one-minute-Public Service Announcement of our country; PSA is a short announcement of an event, it function is to communicate the information to public that arising their concerns over the issue. Augustine helped us to amend and edit our PSA assignments. At last, our first "broadcasting production" was done.

These days were called "the tough training days". It was because we had to work hard on the assignments in bulk! When we had finished our dinner each night, working was only our after-dinner activity. All classmates were keen on working their scripts. Frankly, we are the laziest among the participants, however we still inspired by such learning atmosphere. We continued to work thus both lacked sleep and tired every following day.

The second assignment was an interview. We interviewed other participants over specific issues in their countries. As the interview was conducted in a quite emotional and in-depth way, we knew each other more and our friendship enhanced.

Recording in studio

We seldom have chance to record our voice in studio in Hong Kong. This Bangkok journey offered us an experience on recording our interviews in an actual studio. To make it more convenient, we pretend as the interviewee for each other, both of our topics were about the woman issues in Hong Kong.

Summarizing what we learnt within these four days… whatever we worked over-time and kept using our brain to construct our own stories, we appreciated what we did. Our "unlimited" potential was built under facing the hardships and problems. Worked fast and hard were no longer our problems. Until now, this course was still the most favourite lecture to us!
